History

Photocure ASA was founded in 1993 and recruited its fist full-time employee in 1997. Photocure's aim was to commercialise photodynamic technologies developed by the Norwegian Radium Hospital, the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Northern Europe.

- Hexvix® approved in the US under the tradename Cysview

- All rights to Metvix®/Aktilite® sold to Galderma

 

 

 

  2008 - Metvix®/Aktilite® approved in the US

 

 

 

  2007 - Submitted application (sNDA) for approval of Aktilite® in the US
     2006

- Signed licensing agreement with GE Healthcare for Hexvix®

- Hexvix® launched in Europe

     2005

- Hexvix® approved in all EU/EEA countries
- Hexvix® launched in the Nordic region
- NDA filed for Hexvix® in the US

     2004 - First marketing authorisation obtained for Hexvix®
     2003 - Galderma's first Metvix launch
     2002 - First marketing authorisation application filed for Hexvix®
     2001 - First marketing authorisation obtained for Metvix
- Metvix and Aktilite marketed for the first time
- Licensing agreement for Metvix signed with Galderma
     2000 - First marketing authorisation application filed for Metvix
- Listing of the company's share on the Oslo Stock Exchange
- Start of Hexvix® clinical studies
     1997 - Recruited first full-time employee
- Start of formal clinical studies for Metvix
